ANF foils bid to smuggle heroin abroad

ISLAMABAD - Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) in two different cases recovered nine kilograms and 250 grams heroin distend for United Kingdom by two British-Pakistani Nationals at Islamabad International Airport.
According to ANF press release, in first case ANF Airport team at Rawalpindi was busy in its routine checking, meanwhile a passenger Kamran Ghafoor resident of Tehsil Gojar Khan, District Rawalpindi reached at ANF Counter.
The passenger was not confident and could not satisfactorily reply the questions raised by ANF Airport Team.
Hence, a detailed search was carried out, which resulted in recovery of eight kgs heroin concealed in his bag.
He was to travel by Emirates Airlines Flight No EK-615 from Rawalpindi to London (finally Birmingham) via Dubai.
In second case, ANF Airport Team at Rawalpindi on suspicion stopped a passenger Bilal Zafar Qureshi resident of Kashmir Colony, Rathian, Jhelum.
Detailed search of his luggage resulted in recovery of 1 kgs heroin concealed in Talcum Powder Boxes.
Later on, his personal search resulted in recovery of 250 grams heroin concealed in his underwear.
He was to travel by Etihad Airlines Flight No EY-232 from Rawalpindi to UK via Abu Dhabi.
Both passengers were British-Pakistani Nationals and were going to UK by different routes and flights.
Arrest of both the persons has been made and cases registered at ANF Police Station. Further investigations are under process.
