9.5 kilograms of heroin recovered

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sunday recovered 9.5 kilograms of heroin being transported to the Middle East and European countries from two British national Pakistani passengers, the ANF said.

In the first breakthrough, the ANF staff, deployed at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA), intercepted a passenger identified as Kamran Ghafoor, son of Abdul Ghafoor, hailing from Gujar Khan, and recovered 8 kilograms of heroin powder concealed in secret parts of his baggage. In the second case, the ANF recovered 1.5 kilograms of heroin powder from the luggage of another passenger, Bilal Zafar, son of Zafar Iqbal, resident of Jhelum.

Both were leaving for England by different flights, the ANF said. The arrested men were shifted to the ANF Police Station after lodging FIRs against them to know their links with drug mafia in Pakistan and abroad.
