Altaf asks party workers to start preparing for LB polls

KARACHI - Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has directed the party workers of the all the party zones, sectors and units to start preparations for the forthcoming Local Government elections.
Addressing the MQM Coordination Committee here on Sunday, Altaf said that MQM is the party that had been sending middle class and educated people to the Assemblies, Senate and Local Government institutions purely on merit.
Altaf Hussain directed MQM’s Coordination Committee to select candidates for Local Bodies election purely on merit rather than nepotism and favouritism.
He further said that MQM does not do the selling of the tickets and had introduced genuine public leadership belonging to the poor and middle classes by awarding the tickets on merit since 1987 in all the elections it participated.
He said that the party workers were the back bone of the movement and plays a very important role in running various affairs of the party.
He directed all the zones and sectors to start preparations for the Local Bodies elections and prove once again that MQM’s workers can work in difficult conditions for their cause and mission.
