Nizami lauds Fatima Sughra
LAHORE - Role of Fatima Sughra during the Pakistan Movement was matchless who hoisted Muslim League flag on the Civil Secretariat gate. The Pakistan Movement Workers Trust awarded gold medal to Fatima Sughra in 1987.
NPT Chairman and The Nation Editor-in-Chief Dr Majid Nizami expressed these views during his visit to Minar-i-Pakistan here the other day. He said that the hoisting of Muslim League flag on Civil Secretariat gate was a golden chapter of national history. “Besides preserving the gate, a portrait of Sughra be posted with writings in Urud, English and Bangali. There should be a Pakistan Movement picture gallery in Minar-i-Pakistan,” Dr Nizami opined.
Pakistan Horticulture Authority DG Mian Shakeel Ahmad assured Dr Majid Nizami that the gate would be preserved.
Meanwhile, the students of Government Boys High School visited the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan to attend Aghi programme of Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT). They also visited the Pakistan Movement Gallery on the occasion.
Also, mobile ideological units led by their coordinators visited IBL College for Women Faisal Town, Government Boys High School Wafaqi Colony, Wapda Boys High School Shalimar Town, Wapda Girls High School Shalimar Town, Government Girls High School Wassan Pura, CDG Boys High School Wassan Pura, New Era Grammar School Samanabad and Dar-i-Arqm School Samanabad respectively.
The institution heads presided over the ceremonies in the said institutions. In their lectures, they lauded the NPT’s role in disseminating the Two-Nation Theory to the new generation.
