MNA Mr. Hamza Shahbaz visited Gujrat University

Gujrat: 02 March: Gujrat University (UOG) Has announced that “It is a great achievement of the Government of Punjab to encourage the intelligent students on merit by distributing laptops among them. This is Punjab and merit rules here. Action speaks louder than word. I am fully aware of the transport problems of students of the University of Gujrat, so I announce to provide ten buses to the University of Gujrat as a gift from the Government of Punjab. These buses will be provided to UoG in the running tenure of the Punjab Government so that the students can travel to the university without any shortage of transport. It is a great pleasure for me that the laptops are being distributed among the UoG students on merit. The young generation and particularly our students are our real asset.
They are the custodians of the future of Pakistan. The corrupt and dishonest nations can not dream of a secure future. Today Pakistani society is victim of many issues and problems. But Government of Punjab has honestly initiated and completed many projects for the promotion ofeducation such as laptops scheme, Daanish Schools, Scholarships for students etc.” The chief guest, son of the Chief Minister of Punjab, MNA MrHamzaShahbaz said while addressing the ceremony of distribution of laptops among the students of UoG at University of Gujrat. He also said that Government of Punjab has always encouraged the merit and only merit and it has started many schemes like laptops, scholarships, solar lamps and Daanish schools.

The Government of Punjab will also continue these schemes in the future for the benefit of masses and students. The Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat, Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin said on this occasion while giving the inaugural address, “We all have gathered here today to celebrate the merit. All projects of Punjab Government lead towards promotion of education. Education has been given priority and this is very hopeful. To establish Daanish schools, Punjab Education Foundation, and giving Scholarships and Laptops on merit to the intelligent students is an important achievement towards higher education. Punjab Government is taking steps to improve the higher education abruptly. Other provinces are also taking Punjab as example.
The Chief Minister and his Team understands that only young generation of students can become real asset of Punjab and Pakistan. Students of UoG are shining example. UoG is a very young university and is a success story. All the initiatives taken by UoG to promote higher education in Pakistan have been approved by HEC.UoG has been well established but now it needs additional land because of increasing number of students. We also need making track roads towards UoG double sided. 7500 students are transported in UoG daily from Gujranwala, Sialkot and Gujrat. It is requested to the Punjab Government for allocation of additional land and 10 transport buses. I welcome the energetic and dynamic leader MrHamzaShahbaz at the campus of UoG warm-heartedly.
The chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC) DrJavedLaghari said on this occasion, “I have been a frequent attendee to the universities on the occasion of Laptops Distribution. In my opinion, University of Gujrat is the most outstanding university of Punjab. When Laptops scheme was introduced, it was criticized but I supported this scheme through my articles in newspapers. Laptop is a gateway to higher knowledge. Students can access online education through it. It is very powerful tool in the hand of students. I congratulate all the laptop winning students. The Punjab Police Squad presented guard of honour to the laptop winning students.
The university students also presented the national songs during this ceremony. The ceremony was started with the recitation of verses of Holy Quran by NaqashSaeed and Naat by Ms Alia Rasheed. The ceremony was attended by thousands of university students enthusiastically. The Minister of Higher Education MrZaeemQadri, the political personalities, NawabzadaTahir Ali, NawabzadaMazhar Ali, Mian Tariq, ChAbidRaza and many important personalities from civil society also attended the ceremony at Hafiz Hayat Campus of UoG.
