SIALKOT: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerceand Industry (FPCCI) said that it will not accept multiplication of taxes by the federal government, stressing that there would be no compromise on the integrity of the businessmen in the country.
Speaking at a meeting on Tuesday at Sialkot Chamber ofCommerce and Industry (SCCI), FPCCI president Zubair Ahmed Malik vowed not to support tax evaders, saying that the people earning wealth from the country should come forward and pay their taxes.
SCCI President Dr Sarfraz Bashir and Vice President Mian Muhammad Anwar were also present. Malik demanded immediate revival of economy.
“The increase in dollar value is ruining national economy. The present government has miserably failed to provide any relief to the business community,” he said.
Malik urged Sialkot exporters to focus on the causes of decline in exports of football, surgical instruments and leather goods from Sialkot.
Earlier, talking to the some leading exporters and industrialists at Sialkot, Malik said that the FPCCI is playing an active role in presenting problems of trade, industry and environment and safeguarding the interests of the private sector through continuous dialogue with the government.
During a meeting of the gloves manufacturers and exporters held at Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PGMEA), Malik said the FPPCI was working on enhancing trade through diplomacy.
“The FPCCI will soon organise a roundtable dialogue onenhancement of global trade with the ambassadors and high commissioners posted in Pakistan. We also plan on organising a conference of all honorary consuls-general based in different cities of Pakistan to seek their cooperation to enhance commercial activities to boost the Pakistan trade,” he said.
