LAHORE - Indian High Commissioner TCA Raghavan called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Tuesday. They shared views on the matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations between the two countries.
Shahbaz while welcoming the Indian High Commissioner in the city, laid stress on resolving all issues between through composite dialogue and with a sprit of establishing durable peace in the region. He said the wars gave nothing to the both countries and it is a time that peace should be given a chance.
The CM said that Pakistan and India should start a joint struggle against poverty; for which he added, solution to all issues including Kashmir through composite dialogue is essential. He said that the recent Nawaz-Manmohan meeting augured well.
Referring to the Metro Bus Project, Shahbaz said the project of public welfare had been completed in a record period of 11 months and millions of passengers are benefiting themselves from the modern transport facility. He said the service was providing safe, comfortable, inexpensive and speedy traveling facilities to the masses and the project could be compared with any project in the developed world.
Raghavan on the occasion said that he is deeply impressed with the Metro Bus Project as CM Shahbaz Sharif has made Lahore a developed city in real sense. He said the Indian citizens should visit Punjab to see the development projects.
Lahore Transport Company chairman Khwaja Ahmad Hasaan and MNA Pervaiz Malik were also present on the occasion.
