Talking to PML-N Sindh senior leader Arbab Ghulam Rahim and other office-bearers and workers from various districts at a meeting on Monday, the Punjab chief minister said public service was the hallmark of the past PML-N government in the Punjab and it was determined to set records of service to the people this time. He claimed Pakistan would be made a welfare state in the real sense under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
The CM said, besides development of the province and provision of health, education and transport facilities to the masses, the Punjab government completed exemplary projects like Aashiyana housing scheme during the last five years to provide shelter to homeless people. He said this journey of progress was in progress. The chief minister said industrial, agriculture and economic sectors had been badly affected by the energy crisis and it was necessary to solve this problem as soon as possible. He said the PML-N government was making strenuous efforts to overcome the energy crisis. For this purpose, a number of agreements had been signed with local and foreign companies to generate power from water, coal, solar, biogas, biomass and other sources, he said, adding planning had been made to set up Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park over more than 10,000 acres of land in Bahawalpur.
The CM further said PML-N had always upheld democratic traditions and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had played a commendable role to promote democratic institutions and ensure their stability. He said local body institutions were a source of solution to people’s problems at local level, so the Punjab government was bringing such a system that could effectively address problems of the people at their doorsteps with accountability its main feature.
Arbab Ghulam Rahim said the people had pinned high hopes on the leadership and government of PML-N. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and CM Shahbaz Sharif were making all-out efforts to solve the people’s problems.
